Welcome!

On behalf of the entire executive board, we are honored and thrilled that you are considering applying to AED!

Navigating the pre-health journey can be overwhelming, but with a community of peers who are going through the same path, AED makes the experience feel less isolating. We are dedicated to continuing to grow this community to form a strong network of pre-health students that uplift and inspire each other through their journeys. Through our academic, service, and social pillars, we strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and sharing your experiences. No one should have to navigate the pre-health journey alone, and we hope AED can be the place where you feel supported and heard.

We know that the application process can bring some stress, but we want to reassure you that this process is not meant to be daunting or intimidating. Instead, we encourage you to use this application as an opportunity to reflect on your experiences, passions, and goals. We simply want to know you. We are interested in hearing your story and what led you to your pre-health journey. Be yourself and let your personality shine. We are looking for like-minded students who are passionate about contributing to our growing community!

If you are interested in hearing more about what AED is like, please feel free to attend an interest meeting, a pit-sit, or send us an email at uncaed.nmc@gmail.com, and we will get back to you as soon as we can! We are so excited to get to know all of you and can’t wait to meet you!

Best,

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Join Our Family!

Our chapter of AED recruits new members at the beginning of each fall and spring semester. The first step in becoming a member of AED is completing our recruitment application, which asks candidates to provide more information about their academic background, health interests, personal accomplishments, and why they think we would be a good fit for each other. Our Executive Board reviews each application individually and selects a pool of candidates to advance to the next round of our recruitment process. Those who proceed to this round will be invited to several recruitment events, where candidates will have the opportunity to network with some of our members and learn more about their experiences with the organization. These candidates will also be invited to sign up for a 20-minute interview with two members of the Executive Board, where they will be asked to share more about their interests in health care and in our chapter of AED. At the conclusion of the recruitment events and interviews, the Executive Board meets once again to discuss candidates and select the newest group of AED members.

Where possible, our recruitment events may be moved online temporarily to ensure the safety of both our current and potential new members according to the circumstances. Please note that all recruitment events and interviews are invitation-only.

We look forward to receiving your application and getting to know you!
